Yvonne Taylor

Yvonne Qiyamah Taylor is a dedicated lawyer and adjunct professor who serves as the Executive Director of the Sickle Cell Research Support Foundation.  She leads initiatives dedicated to improving the wellbeing of children and adults living with chronic conditions like anxiety, depression, pain and sickle cell disease.  Her passion for providing lasting, positive change motivates her to collaborate  with other organizations to ensure that children and adults living with chronic conditions have an opportunity to thrive.  Her legal expertise allows her navigate complex challenges and advocate effectively  for systemic change. Her compassionate leadership and lived experience as a advocate for her son and founder of the Sickle Cell Research Support Foundation, Jawwaad Taylor, ensures that the community she serves is always at the heart of the Sickle Cell Research Support Foundation's mission.  

Our annual fundraiser, Play Pickle for Sickle, is an exciting pickleball tournament that offers something for everyone.  The day features a celebrity match and includes the presentation of our High Spirits Award to outstanding members of our community.  The proceeds from Play Pickle for Sickle is shared with Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center, supporting its medical excellence, patient care and research initiatives.
